1. Passport Requirements
Originals and photocopies of the following documents:
- Long Birth Certificate;
- Zimbabwean I.D. for all applicants above 16 years (Driver’s Licence NOT ACCEPTED);
- Marriage Certificate / divorce order where applicable;
- Two (2) colour passport photos (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background, dark-coloured shirt/blouse/jacket, no eyeglasses, no jewelry, hair tied back, face front with both ears visible);
- Police Report required for all Lost or Stolen passports;
- Citizenship Certificate (for citizens by registration / if one or both parents are Zimbabwean citizens by descent or if the applicant was born outside Zimbabwe)

2. Visas
Visas for Zimbabwe are issued based on different categories as follows:
- CATEGORY ‘A’ – Those who do not need visas to enter Zimbabwe;
- CATEGORY ‘B’ – Those who may be issued with a visa at any port of entry after paying the requisite visa fee, or they can apply online;
- CATEGORY ‘C’ – Those who are required to apply and obtain visas before travelling to Zimbabwe. Visa can be applied for online;

Visa Requirements at the Port of Entry
- A passport valid for at least 6 months;
- 2 passport size photos;
- Visa fee: US$30.00 – single entry;
- Visa fee: US$45.00 – double entry;
- Visa fee: US$55.00 – multiple entry (to be supported by a letter);

Diplomatic, Official and Service passports
Currently, the Embassy is only issuing visas for the diplomatic, official and service passports. Visa application forms can be downloaded here. On submission, the form is to be accompanied by a Note Verbale, copy of passport and two passport photos.
3. Translation and Authentication of documents
Authentication of documents issued by the Government of Zimbabwe (apostille/ authentication stamp) is done by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade in Zimbabwe. The Embassy can only confirm through an Attestation that a document/ certificate was issued by the Government of the Republic of Zimbabwe, and in the case of birth certificates that they are only issued once in Zimbabwe. The Embassy also translates documents issued by the Government of Zimbabwe from English to French and certifies copies of Zimbabwean documents as well as imprints the Embassy verification stamp certifying that a translated document is a true translation of the original.
The Administration Fees are as follows:
- Translation- €20
- Attestation- €20
- Certifying – €10
4. Police Clearance
The Police Clearance Form, ZRP Form 137, can be obtained from the Embassy or downloaded here.
Applicants are required to do the following:
- Fill in the attached ZRP Form 137;
- Make an appointment with the Embassy for the finger prints (Administration fee is €20 for fingerprints at the Embassy);
- Or make appointment for fingerprints with any Police Station which does fingerprints;
- Make payment of US$75, or the equivalent by telegraphic transfer to the Account No. provided on the ZRP website: www.zrp.gov.zw
Applicants are to pay for any Bank charges that may occur.
- Or make appointment for fingerprints with any Police Station which does fingerprints;
- Forward completed form, proof of payment and fingerprints to ZRP, either through: a third party, or post to:

5. Notice of Birth
Application for a birth certificate for children born outside Zimbabwe can be done at the Embassy.
Requirements:
Originals and photocopies of the following documents:
- Birth record / Health Card ( including the English translated version);
- External Birth Certificate;
- Mother’s I.D, Birth Certificate and passport;
- Father’s I.D, Birth Certificate and passport;
- Marriage Certificate (if applicable);
Administration Fee: €10
6. Non-marriage Certificates and Certificats de coutume
Non-marriage certificates are issued to Zimbabwean nationals seeking to either marry for the first time or to remarry. These are applied for in person or through a nominee at the Registrar of Marriages at Makombe Building in Harare, Zimbabwe.

The Embassy then requires the original non-marriage certificate issued by the Registrar General’s Office in order to translate it to French and to issue a Certificat de coutume.

7. Temporary Travel Documents (TTDs)
TTDs are issued at the Embassy in the event of an urgent need to travel to applicants without a valid passport.
Requirements:
- Original and Copy of Birth Certificate;
- Original and Copy of Zimbabwe ID Card;
- Expired passport: (or police report for lost passport);
- Two passport photos (size 3.5 x 4.5 cm, white background, dark-coloured shirt/blouse/jacket, no eyeglasses, no jewelry, hair tied back, face front with both ears visible)

8. Attestation of Validity of Zimbabwean Drivers Licences
Requirements:
- Applicant should first get a confirmation letter of their Licence from CVR in Zimbabwe.;
- Bring the confirmation letter and 2x Passport photos to the Embassy;

9. Repatriation of Remains
List of required documents for Repatriation of Human remains to Zimbabwe:
- Death Certificate (Abridged Death Certificate);
- Copy of Deceased’s Passport or Birth certificate or Zimbabwean I.D.;
- Burial Order;
- Embalming Certificate
- Infectious /Non-Infectious Disease Certificate
- Post-mortem Report;
- Permit to Repatriate;
- Copy of Deceased relative’s Passport or Birth Certificate or Zimbabwean I.D, contact details and Affidavit mentioning final burial place.
APPLICANTS WHO CANNOT COME TO THE EMBASSY FOR CONSULAR SERVICES CAN MAIL THEIR DOCUMENTS USING A TRACKABLE PRIORITY MAIL SERVICE AND SHOULD MAKE ARRANGEMENTS FOR PRE-PAID RETURN POSTAGE FOR THEIR DOCUMENTS TO BE RETURNED TO THEM.
